In this exhibition, the various works are meant to elicit emotion from viewers about a world that lives on unaffected by time, a world of merging reality and a sense of wonder. Each piece is a reflection on different times of contemplation about solitude. For example, the struggle to find meaning in times of chaos or moments when their own existence could be questioned.
In Solo Symphony, we decided to focus on these introspective moments we all have when solitude occurs by offering a different perspective on the experience of solo moments, ranging from reflection on life, paired with chaos, to understanding the questions of life. What and how we consider the idea of solitude in this exhibition is more than just being physically alone, but also a moment when people engage in deep thought, ask hard questions and find clarity in confusion. We used light, shadow and geometric lines in a mode to create a dream-like world that blurs the line with reality and fantasy; a world where one can feel as if they have immersed themselves in the frame they're viewing.
The hope for Solo Symphony is that people find a connection deep within themselves, tapping into the same depth of internal connections they would have with their moments of solitude; the moments of solitude where beauty lies. Additionally, reminding people to stop, to remember, to think, and to find depth in our quietest moments.
