This series is dedicated to the simple and genuine joy of childhood. For both the creators and selectors of this collection, our feelings have been invested into these bright and fascinating works. Our goal is to capture the essence of those carefree days on one hand, and on the other hand, to take a moment and try to imagine the lives of the less fortunate children in this world.
The inspiration is based on our childhood—a time of joy, discovery, and a world without limits. We aimed to capture that same feeling of happiness and liberation that comes with play or when exploring something for the first time. At the same time, we are acutely aware of the many children in this world who are not as lucky, who go through suffering and who may never get a chance to be happy. This awareness makes us appreciate our own memories even more.
These pieces also represent the bubble many of us live in and acknowledge the existence of other, more challenging situations. We hope the viewer takes a moment to recall the joy and lightness of their childhood, and to remember the happiness that still lives within each of us.
The flowers in our works reflect growth and renewal, mirroring the way kids see the world—with fresh eyes and open hearts. The dreamlike scenes are a playground for the imagination, encouraging you to dive in and let your inner child run free.
We hope Coated Joy makes the viewer feel a spark of that childhood wonder. Each painting tells a story of joy and exploration, capturing those universal moments of playful delight. We tried to awaken happy memories and help the viewer reconnect with that playful spirit. After all, joy is timeless, and it's something we should always tap into, if life allows—no matter our age. We also believe that time passes much quicker when we are older, and that we don't focus enough on having more joyful and light moments we had as children.
